To sum up my first lesson with Spanish Tutor Online, I can say that I definitely do not know Spanish outside of a few basic sentences. Like “¿Cómo Estás?”, “Bien.”, “Mi nombre es Taylor.”, “¿Dónde está (insert English word or made up Spanish here)?” However, I have still spoken the most Spanish in one sitting for longer than I have in any other time I have tried learning Spanish. If you are exploring Spanish tutoring, I suggest the free assessment with Spanish Tutor Online.

I took two years of French and two years of Spanish in high school; but I never really learned the language enough to use it. I have friends that speak Spanish, many of my co-workers speak/spoke Spanish, and it is becoming more and more prominent in the United States. Anyone who lives the U.S. knows that the ability to fluently speak Spanish is a great help in everyday life and personal achievement.

In one lesson with Spanish Tutor Online I learned more than a full week of Spanish in school; and it was richly entertaining. The online Spanish tutor, Paulino Velasco, is friendly, helpful, and professional. He takes the time to slow down when he is speaking Spanish to you and he is talented at gauging how much you are learning. If you do not understand something, it is fully encouraged to stop and ask questions. Since you are online via Skype, it is easy for the tutor to message you and show you specific words as they come up in the lesson. The learning is at your pace! And it is very easy to schedule lessons and connect with Paulino. My computer was having issues, so I just used my phone for the entire lesson with no issues. Fantastic service by Spanish Tutor Online.

I expect to be speaking actual Spanish sentences in my daily life in just 3 weeks if I stay consistent. ¡Estoy muy emocionado de aprender con Spanish Tutor Online!

<![CDATA[Día de Los Muertos]]>Mon, 23 Oct 2017 10:42:34 GMThttp://spanishtutoronline.com/online-spanish-blog/dia-de-los-muertos8 more days until Halloween! All the Halloween spirit has us thinking about Día de los Muertos or “Day of the Dead.” This is a Spanish holiday celebrated in Mexico and most regions of Central America.

Día de los Muertos is on November 1st and 2nd, and it is a holiday focused on celebrating and observing the spirits of deceased loved ones. Spanish speakers connect with their ancestors from the past and honor them with decorations, traditions, food, and fiestas.

In the Spanish culture, death may be viewed very differently than it is in your own. Since death is inescapable for all of us, instead of grieving or worrying about death, many Spanish speakers embrace it. The acceptance of death is very surreal when you are immersed in Spanish culture on Día de los Muertos. People are not sad, in fact, it may seem as though the opposite is true with all the celebrations and activity going on.

Spanish Tutor Online offers two free Spanish lessons to help you get started on your path to fluent Spanish speaking, and also offers education on Spanish culture. To learn more about Día de los Muertos or anything else Spanish, sign up for a free assessment with Paulino Velasco below.

<![CDATA[5 reasons to learn from a Spanish tutor online.]]>Tue, 10 Oct 2017 17:25:05 GMThttp://spanishtutoronline.com/online-spanish-blog/5-reasons-to-learn-from-a-spanish-tutor-online
  1. Learning Spanish (or any foreign language) will boost your creative juices. It opens your mind up to a new culture and new experiences. Learning Spanish will also help you understand more about your own culture by giving you the ability to look at it from a different world view.
  2. Did you ever take a foreign language class in school? How much of it did you remember? Think about how you learned to speak your native language. We learn by listening and communicating with each other. Flash cards and plain memorization will not help you become competent in Spanish. Paulino will correct your mistakes as you speak Spanish; meaning you learn effectively.
  3. Learning Spanish online is the most convenient way to take a Spanish class. You can take a Spanish lesson from anywhere in the World; all you need is a computer, smartphone, or tablet and an internet connection and you’re good to go.
  4. You achieve a personal interaction with your Spanish tutor every time you take a lesson. Other methods such as Rosetta Stone or a classroom setting cannot individualize a lesson to fit one specific student.
  5. With Spanish classes online you can take classes at your own pace. Regardless of a work or school schedule, it is easy for students to find one hour of the day to learn Spanish. ¡Habla Español todos los días!
